""The burglary suspect might have gotten away had the victim not placed a ‘field hockey' block on him,"" Police Department Spokesperson Joel DeSpain said in the incident report.

Using the dropped cell phone, police were able to arrange a meet up with the suspect—who had called his phone after realizing he had dropped it—outside a State Street coffee shop.

Unaware that he had agreed to meet a policeman, the suspect was apprehended on his arrival by the undercover officer and two uniformed colleagues.
