Monday afternoon, Wisconsin senior quarterback Scott Tolzien was announced as the recipient of the 2010 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, given each year to the nation's top senior quarterback.
At the helm of one of the nation's most potent offenses, Tolzien finished the regular season with 2,300 yards and 16 touchdowns through the air. His 74.3 completion percentage was tops in the country and has him on pace to break the Big Ten record, currently held by former Wisconsin quarterback Darrell Bevell, who set the record with a 67.8 mark in 1993. Tolzien was also fourth in the nation with a quarterback rating of 169.8, which will shatter the school record of 155.2, also set by Bevell in 1993.
Tolzien beat out TCU's Andy Dalton, Nevada's Colin Kaepernick, Florida State's Christian Ponder, and Iowa's Ricky Stanzi for the award.
