Bucky Badger's $4,000 mascot head was stolen last Sunday from the apartment of a UW-Madison student who portrays Bucky at sporting events.
The 28-pound head resurfaced Monday morning undamaged outside the W. Gilman Street apartment.
The student said he hosted a small party with friends Sunday night and the head was missing when he awoke the following morning.

The student reported the occurrence to UW officials and the Madison Police department and said if the head was returned undamaged, he would not press criminal charges.
According to the reporting officer, it would have been difficult for the thief to explain how they possessed the head.
""It is an uncommon item and would have to be hidden,"" stated the officer in the report.
