The UW Police Department announced recently it will not allow carry-ins of any kind into Camp Randall for the remainder of the football season for security reasons.
The new restrictions come in response to a bulletin issued by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security three weeks ago regarding ""terrorist interest"" in attacking hotels or stadiums.
The police department is reminding football fans attending the Homecoming game this Saturday to leave backpacks, bags, purses and even umbrellas at home.
""No specific threats have been made against Camp Randall Stadium,"" UWPD said in a statement. ""University police and athletic officials will continue to monitor the national threat level, which remains at yellow.""
Exceptions will be made if a carry-in is required for medical reasons.
This protocol was followed during the Sept. 26 Badger game against Michigan State and will be enforced at all home games for the remainder of the season.
