Men's basketball ticket sales to be first-come, first-served

Wisconsin announced its men's basketball season ticket policy for students Thursday, which includes several notable changes from previous years.

Tickets will go on sale Sept. 8 at 8:30 a.m. Rather than the lottery system that has been used in the past, this year's tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, similar to football and men's hockey tickets.

The seating process for men's basketball has changed as well. Instead of receiving assigned seats prior to the start of the season, all students will receive vouchers, which will be exchanged for a ticket at the doors of the Kohl Center. Seating, like with football, will also be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

Another difference from last year's ticket process is the elimination of full-season tickets. All tickets will be sold as half-season packages. There are a total of 2,100 student section seats at the Kohl Center, meaning 4,200 students will receive half-season ticket packages this year. The specific games included in each plan have not yet been announced.
