The Madison chapter of the Young Women's Christian Association honored UW-Madison's School of Social Work Tuesday for its outstanding diversity practices.
At the YWCA's annual Racial Justice Community Summit, the organization gave awards in four categories: recruitment, retention and organizational climate, diversity training and service delivery. The School of Social Work took home an award for exceptional recruitment of diverse students.

According to a statement, the percentage of students of color enrolled in the fall 2007-'08 undergraduate class was 35 percent - o - oa 19 percent increase from the previous year.
