A group of state legislators signed a petition to broadcast a November game of the Green Bay Packers, even as the state budget remains stalled.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers have agreed on something at the state Capitol, but it is not the state budget.
Fourteen legislators signed a letter to the main cable companies in the state urging them to show a Nov. 29 game between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. The game would currently be unavailable to large sections of the state, according to a release by the NFL Network, the channel that would show the game.
Speaking on behalf of National Football League enthusiasts and Green Bay Packers fans from our districts, we write you today urging that you quickly negotiate a solution with the NFL Network,"" the legislators wrote.
John Miller, director of communications for the cable company Charter Communications, said he had not yet seen the letter. Miller said contract negotiations with the NFL Network are ongoing, and Charter is trying to negotiate the best price for its consumers. He said it was ultimately up to the NFL who was allowed to broadcast the games.
