Democrats are far happier than Republicans with their choice of Presidential candidates, according to a poll of likely Wisconsin voters released Wednesday.
The Strategic Vision, LLC poll, which surveyed a mix of Republicans, Democrats and Independents, showed general disapproval of the current administration, with a collective 24 percent approval rating and an overwhelming 67 percent disapproval.
When Republicans were asked their choice of a candidate for the 2008 presidential election, the favorite was former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani with 22 percent. Former Wisconsin governor Tommy Thompson and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., followed with 16 percent each. The poll revealed Republicans were generally dissatisfied with the current field of candidates, with 49 percent unsatisfied and 30 percent undecided.
Democrats favored New York Senator Hilary Clinton over Illinois Senator Barack Obama 38 percent to 25 percent. Democrats polled generally approved of their choices for candidates with 59 percent satisfied and 18 percent unsatisfied.
