A Madison woman was the victim of a strong-armed robbery late last Saturday night on the 600 block of W. Washington Avenue, police said.
According to Madison police, three black males in their 20s are suspected in the robbery. The 25-year-old female was reportedly leaving a movie store in the area, located just off campus, when the suspects approached her and stole her purse.
Police said one of the suspects attempted to punch the victim in the head, but she avoided the blow. Once the purse was stolen, the suspects fled the scene. The woman was said to have had all her credit cards in her purse, but cancelled them shortly after the robbery.
Police are still investigating the situation.
