Evidence taken from the scene of UW-Madison student Austin Cannon's fake identification ring could be used as an aid to contact those pictured on the IDs, according to WKOW 27.
Madison police arrested Cannon, 20, last week when police discovered he had been illegally producing fake California identifications. Police were able to investigate Cannon's apartment due to a reported fire in his building on the 400 block of Carroll Street.
According to WKOW 27, more than 12 fake California driver's licenses were found in the apartment building. They reported tools such as lip balm, a ruler and an exacto knife were used to construct the IDs.
WKOW 27 reported Wednesday that Madison police spokesperson Mike Hanson said police are looking into contacting those pictured in the confiscated IDs. Hanson told WKOW 27 Cannon's operation might have helped people obtain alcoholic beverages.
