The Waukee school district in Iowa changed its logo recently after the University of Wisconsin complained the ""W"" the school district used was too similar to Wisconsin's own ""W"" logo, according to the Des Moines Register.
The Collegiate Licensing Company, the licensing representative for UW, said the previous ""W"" logo was too similar in its distinctive slant, dipping left side and shading.
Wisconsin could possibly have sued for trademark infringement, but is allowing the district to gradually shift to the new logo, according to the Collegiate Licensing Company.
The Register said the old logo still adorns Waukee High School's scoreboard but has been removed from the district's website.
