A run-away horse running through the streets of Madison occupied several police officers' time early Wednesday morning.
Both officers and spectators attempted to trap the beast with vehicles and once that failed, a life-saving device was used as a makeshift lasso to wrangle the horse. That tool was unsuccessful and finally after almost an hour, the horse was captured near the intersection of Hwy 12/18 and Hwy N and suffered only a few minor injuries.
According to police, the horse was a threat to itself and to oncoming traffic on Madison's far east side. The run-away horse was suspected to come from a stable from a nearby ranch. Police said the owner followed them as they attempted to capture the horse.
