Minnesota vs. Texas Tech
Dec. 29, 2006, 7:30 p.m.
Ups and downs marked the Minnesota football season this fall. The low point of the season came when Gopher fans chanted for head coach Glen Mason's resignation during a home loss. However, the Gophers did turn it around, winning three straight games and earning a trip to Tempe, Ariz. for the Insight Bowl. The Gophers, led by quarterback Brian Cupito look to slow down the high-flying Red Raiders of Texas Tech.
Tech enters the Dec. 29 game with a vastly different game plan than their opponents from the North. As Minnesota focuses on a strong running game, the Red Raiders, led by sophomore quarterback Graham Harrell, air the ball out like it's a game of street football. Harrell has thrown for more than 4,000 yards and 26 touchdowns.
The scoreboard in Tempe will be lit up all day, as this promises to be a shootout. In the end, Texas Tech should come out victorious.
Final score: TT 41, Minnesota 34.
