Purdue vs. Maryland
Dec. 29, 2006, 8 p.m.
The 2006 season was a pleasant surprise for Purdue fans. Finishing in the top half of the Big Ten, and losing only small pieces to the puzzle, 2007 looks to be very promising. But first, they take on the Terps of Maryland. Purdue enters the matchup averaging 436 yards per game, with over 300 coming through the air. Junior quarterback Curtis Painter will look for All-Big Ten first team wideout Dorian Bryant to hurt the Terps' defense.
Maryland enters the Dec. 29th game with a mediocre defense at best. Senior quarterback Sam Hollenbach struggled with turnovers all season and with Purdue's stout defensive line putting pressure on him all day, Maryland will be in trouble.
This one will be close before Purdue pulls away down the stretch.
Final score: Purdue 28, Terps 17
