Four pedestrians were struck late Friday night by a vehicle which lost control due to slippery road conditions near the intersection of Johnson and Bassett streets.
According to Madison Police, the four injured pedestrians were taken to University Hospital by ambulance at approximately 10 p.m. One person suffered a broken arm, and another was said to have head injuries. The other two were not seriously injured, sustaining only minor scratches and bruises.
Lt. Pat Malloy said that the victims of the accident are doing well and all injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Madisonian Subramaniam Ramachandran, 27, whose car lost control and hit the pedestrians near Casa Bianca, 333 N. Bassett St., was cited with a ""too fast for conditions"" ticket. Police said that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The scene was blockaded for over an hour, and police noted spots of ice covered by snow as contributing factors to the accident.
