New Beer Thursday

The most distinctive feature of Pete's Wicked Wanderlust Cream Ale is the packaging looks... appealing. A woman, made entirely of clouds, licks her lips seductively and wears a ""come hither (and try my beer)"" smirk.

Highly appealing to those ""women who look like clouds"" fetishists—or ""puffies,"" as they prefer to be called—Wanderlust is so light and fluffy to the taste, every swig tastes like swallowing foam—A nice quality for the first few skeptical sips, but by the time the bottle's neck is freed of liquid, the texture gets old.

However, textural flaws could be easily overlooked if this beer had a great, or at least distinctive taste. The problem is, texture aside, this beer is nothing special. Tasting like every other generic ale, Wanderlust is not bad, just, not unique. And, in a world where 24 cans of Mountain Creek can be bought for less than $10, who really needs another average, generic, sexily-packaged beer?
