With the State Governor election just a week away, recently released polls show major discrepancies in projected results.
According to a Zogby interactive poll held from Oct. 23-27, U.S. Rep. Mark Green, R-Green Bay, now leads incumbent Gov. Jim Doyle by a slim margin of 47.2 to 46.7 percent.
Mike Prentiss, Green's campaign spokesperson, said the Zogby poll reflects widespread dissatisfaction with the Doyle administration.
""The people of Wisconsin are tired of Jim Doyle's failed leadership,"" Prentiss said.
However, a poll conducted by the national firm Strategic Vision shows Doyle still leading by two percent.
Still, the Strategic Vision poll is not exactly an endorsement of the incumbent governor, showing Doyle with a meager 39 percent approval rating.
The telephone-based Badger Poll also released projected election results Tuesday. And though Zogby and Strategic Vision show the Governor's race as a dead heat, the Badger Poll has Doyle receiving 50 percent of the vote to a mere 36 percent for Mark Green.
According to the Badger Poll, 57 percent of Wisconsinites also said Doyle has done a fair to poor job while in office.
