Weekend robberies plague Madison

Police reported three armed robberies of businesses this weekend, with suspects at large in each instance.

A white man in his mid-20s left Kelley's Market, 636 W. Washington Ave., at about 10 p.m. Sept. 14 with an unspecified amount of cash, soda and cigarettes. The man produced a note implying he had a weapon.

The Pinkus McBride, 301 N. Hamilton St., was held up Sep. 16 at 9:14 p.m. when a suspect described as a 200 lb. white man wearing a baseball cap and a shirt with the word ""Kenwood"" on the front demanded money, implying he had a gun.

Finally, Supreme Pizza, 912 E. Johnson St., was robbed at gunpoint by a suspect described as a clean-shaven 20 to 30-year-old man wearing a blue bicycle helmet. The suspect allegedly entered the restaurant at 3:54 p.m. Sept. 17, displayed a handgun in his waistband, and demanded money.
