New Beer Thursday

Appealing to college students' basal instincts in the same shameless way a gumball machine appeals to four-year -olds, or CBS appeals to old people, Fort Collins Brewery Chocolate Stout is a beer that, for the expensive $8.99 price tag, promises a lot.  

 

Unfortunately, this lofty stout has problems delivering. Bathing one's tongue in a rather bland bath of brew leaves the overly expectant imbiber moderately disappointed. Worse yet is the unpleasant, distinctly-non-chocolatey aftertaste, bitterly reminiscent of bad frat party beer. 

 

You're best skipping this one and picking up some Oreos and vodka instead.
