The Skinny: Brothers Past is a Philly band who separate themselves from 

 

the slew of jam bands out there by drawing their inspiration not from

the Grateful Dead or B.B. King but rather from '60s acoustic pop and 

 

early '80s dance and synth pop. 

 

 

 

What: Cows Gone Wild play 

 

When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8 p.m. 

 

Where: Broom Street Theater, 1119 Williamson Street 

 

How much: $7 

 

The Skinny: This play is a comedy about dates gone miserably bad, beer, 

 

Wal-Mart and cows. What more could you want? The playwright only wrote 

 

the first half of the play, then let the entire cast write 

 

the rest during rehearsals. 

 

 

 

What: East Asian Film Festival 

 

When: Saturday and Sunday, Noon to Midnight 

 

Where: Play Circle, Memorial Union and Cinematheque, 4070 Vilas 

 

How much: Free! 

 

The skinny: The festival features some of today's most prolific and 

 

influential Asian filmmakers. It is designed to promote awareness of 

 

East Asian cinema and culture in general. 

 

 

 

What: MadHatters Spring Concert 

 

When: Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m. 

 

Where: Overture Hall, 201 State Street 

 

How much: $8-22 

 

The Skinny: MadHatters formed in 1997, becoming UW-Madison's first and 

 

premier men's a cappella group. Tickets go fast, so get ‘em while 

 

they're hot. 

 

 

 

What: Mifflin Street Block Party 

 

When: Saturday 

 

Where: Mifflin Street 

 

How much: However much you're willing to give. 

 

The skinny: A small, intimate gathering among friends.
