Reader of the Day: Ashlee Schmid-Valona

Most people would think that catering at the Union is a boring, part-time road to nowhere. Today's ROD, however, thinks differently. She has found what she calls the Zen of catering\ where she gives not only her time to the job, but also her creative soul. ""When you're making a cheese tray and you get in the zone, you begin to see the inner beauty of each slice of cheddar, swiss and provolone. They each have their own unique voice. All I do is liberate them from the formless block from whence they came."" Ah, the beauty of cheese. Only in Wisconsin can a satori be found in a slice of havarti.\
