It's actually been more like 230 years, and Smuttynose Brewing Co. has finally decided to begin the healing by releasing an India Pale Ale in the British tradition.
A bitter initial taste will remind you of American outrage at King George for ravagin' our coasts and burnin' our towns. But a more complex and varied aftertaste will bring to mind the US and Great Britain's strong alliance since about 1812.
