Gov. Jim Doyle signed the Emergency Heating Assistance Package for Working Families Wednesday, kicking off the application process for up to 40,000 families in need of home heating support.
In a statement Wednesday, Doyle said the Emergency Heating Assistance Package is a victory for Wisconsin families who have been struggling to pay the skyrocketing heating costs this winter.
I believe that making life in Wisconsin more affordable is one of our most important responsibilities,\ Doyle said in a statement. ""I am pleased that Democrats and Republicans in the Legislature acted on my proposal to provide emergency assistance.""
