1904 - Oscar Osthoff won a gold medal for one-arm lifts and a silver for two-arm lifts (weight lifting).
1904 - George Poage was the first black ever to win an Olympic medal. Poage took home two bronze medals in the sprint competition.
1984 - Kris Thorsness took home gold in rowing.
1988 - Kim Santiago was one of two coxswains (the person who directs the crew but does not actually row) picked to compete for the U.S. women's team. Santiago's four-rower boat finished fifth in the finals.
1996 - Eric Mueller won a silver medal with the U.S. rowing team.
2000 - Kirk Penney went on to play for New Zealand and was a member of their first ever Olympic basketball team. He was one of 35 people to play in both the Olympics and the Final Four in the same year.
2002 - Curtis Joseph won a gold with Canada's ice hockey team.
2004 - Beau Hoopman helped men's rowing 8 win first gold medal in 40 years.
2006 - Former women's hockey player and All-American, Molly Engstrom was named to the current U.S. Olympic women's hockey team.
