UW-Madison students and university officials held the first meeting of a committee designed to reevaluate the status of Limited Term Employees at Memorial Union and Union South, according to a statement from the Student Labor Action Coalition.
SLAC is pushing for a 'living wage' for LTEs and a plan is in the works to design a policy that would regulate their employment through the University. After a referendum put forth by Associated Students of Madison to raise LTE wages was struck down last semester, a new initiative was launched that included chartering a campus committee to review the issue.
