Associated Students of Madison Student Council approved a new budget for the UW Roman Catholic Foundation Wednesday, allocating $147,529 of its originally requested $204,226.
After the Student Services Finance Committee cut funds for UWRCF last semester, the organization appealed, citing a violation of viewpoint neutrality in the budget review process, and the ASM Student Judiciary granted a new budget hearing.
During Wednesday's hearing, a variety of issues with the RCF budget were debated, including a requested $10,000 sum of money designated for supplies, which had no specific breakdown of expenditures.
Discrepancies in funds RCF requested for advertising and maintenance costs were also contested issues.
The Student Council did not discuss plans for the Safe Arrival for Everyone cab service at the meeting.
According to ASM Vice Chair Dylan Rath, the administration of SAFEcab was resolved and is now in the hands of Associated Students of Madison rather than UW Transportation Services.
Rath said ASM will have enough money to fund the SAFEcab program next year.
