Madison police found the body of Joann Gray in the trunk of a car Friday at an area storage facility, according to Public Information Officer Mike Hanson.
According to the Dane County Coroner's Office, Gray was murdered and then put in the trunk of a 1986 maroon Jaguar sports car.
A team of FBI, Madison, and Florida law enforcement officers was led to the storage facility by Louis D'Angelo of Niagara Falls, New York. D'Angelo, 42, is the primary suspect in Gray's murder and has already been charged with mutilating or hiding a corpse and possession of stolen property.
Hanson declined further comment on the case, saying the investigation into Gray's murder is ongoing.
Gray had been missing since Dec. 26. The coroner's office did not go further than to say that she had been murdered and did not cite a specific cause of death.
D'Angelo is being held without bond at the Dodge County jail.
