Louis D'Angelo, the man accused of killing Joann Gray and hiding her body in the trunk of a car, admitted to strangling Gray to death, according to a Dodge County criminal complaint filed Monday.
A team of Florida, Madison and FBI law enforcement officers found Gray's body Saturday after D'Angelo led them to Affordable Storage, 4402 Remington Rd. Gray had been missing since Dec. 26, when she was last seen in Florida with D'Angelo.
D'Angelo already faces a maximum of 10 years in prison for hiding a corpse, and is being held in Dodge county jail on $25,000 cash bond.
D'Angelo had two outstanding warrants in New York when he killed Gray in Florida and took her body to Wisconsin. He stayed in Beaver Dam from Dec. 28 to Jan. 15 before taking Gray's body to Madison in the trunk of his 1986 Jaguar.
D'Angelo is a convicted felon, with weapons and larceny charges already on his record.
