Bill Nayes, football operations coordinator and head of team travel for the Seattle Seahawks since Feb. 2000, was named assistant athletic director and director of football operations at Wisconsin, head coach Bret Bielema announced in a press release yesterday.
'Bill was a challenging hire, because I had to work very hard to get him,' Bielema said. 'He will be a great asset to our football program...'
Nayes, a former Badger football manager and UW-Madison alumnus, joined the Seahawks in 1999 as an administrative assistant. His most recent job entailed all aspects of the team's group travel, including budget, team charters, hotel accommodations, meal arrangements and group transportation. He also organized Seattle's mini-camps and training camps.
Nayes worked for the Green Bay Packers from 1997 to 1999, starting as an intern for the Packer's 1997 Super Bowl team.
Graduating in 1994 from Wisconsin with a degree in history, Nayes acted as team manager for the football team from 1989 to 1994 then worked as a program associate for the team until 1997.
