Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine recently rated UW-Madison the 15th best value of the nation's public universities.
The list, which took into account total cost and overall quality of the university, which factors in freshman retention, test scores and graduation rates, among other factors, ranked UW-Madison second among Big Ten schools, placing them under the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne.
The University of North Carolina topped the list, and UW-La Crosse and UW-Eau Claire finished in the top 100.
