Coreweekly magazine folded Thursday after nearly 18 months of publication, according to several of the alternative weekly's employees.
Coreweekly Publisher Catherine Nelson started two previous alternative weeklies in other cities, which folded prior to Core's inception.
The free magazine focused on arts and entertainment'from local bands to movie reviews to interviews with internationally known artists.
The last issue of the free magazine, which features an inserted wedding guide, is on stands in dozens of locations on the UW-Madison campus and in the city.
The alternative magazine was targeted at adults under 30 and competed with the Isthmus for ad sales.
Coreweekly debuted in late August 2004 and received more than 600 resumes for a staff of 15.
The offices were located at 222 State St.
