Madison Police shot out the tires of a pickup truck near Langdon Street Saturday after the truck tried to evade a traffic stop and later charged two police officers, according to police reports. The truck was allegedly driving recklessly in the snowy weather conditions when a police officer pulled it over on East Johnson Street. However, the driver reportedly drove off before the officer could talk to him. According to reports, the officer decided not to pursue the car due to weather conditions and instead followed it to a parking lot located on Gilman and Butler Streets. A second officer then joined the first, after which the driver allegedly accelerated toward them. The officers then fired at and flattened the truck's tires, according to reports. The truck allegedly continued driving until it reached Howard Place along Langdon Street, at which point the driver got out of the car and fled. The driver, Dannon Mourfield, 33, of Madison, was charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
