Texas’ Young fending off USC duo in Heisman race

Last weekend, Vince Young kept up his Heisman Trophy numbers by going 16-for-27 for 298 yards and two touchdowns against Baylor. This is helping his team keep their number two ranking in the BCS and also keeping his stats on par with 'Hollywood Hotshot' Matt Leinart.

Reggie Bush put up some big numbers in last weekend's 51-21 rout of Pac-10 rival Stanford, including 12 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown. This was also complemented by four receptions for 27 yards. Bush is USC's main scoring threat that is helping his team contend for another national championship.

Once again, USC quarterback and defending Heisman trophy winner Matt Leinart put up some Heisman-worthy numbers Saturday against Stanford, going 22-for-28 for 259 yards and 4 touchdowns. If he keeps up with these numbers, then Leinart will challenge fellow quarterback Young for his second Heisman Trophy.

Brady Quinn is a name that many people did put on early-season watch lists for the Heisman trophy. However, he has led the Fighting Irish to a surprising 6-2 record. He has also put up some huge stats, including going 20-for-33 for 295 yards and three touchdowns against Tennessee last weekend.

Another name that has surprised many is Michael Robinson. He has led the Nittany Lions to the top of the Big Ten and a No. 5 ranking in the BCS Poll. His numbers have been extraordinary on both the ground and through the air. He has thrown for 1,992 yards and 15 touchdowns and rushed for 695 yards and 10 touchdowns.
