The Badgers rolled to a 92-54 victory over Coastal Carolina at the Kohl Center Saturday night, helped in large part by a 20-point effort from junior guard Kammron Taylor. The Badgers also benefited by the continuously inspiring performance of sophomore Brian Butch, who put up 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds in only 20 minutes of play.
Wisconsin started strong, dashing out to a 26-8 lead and riding Taylor's hot hand as he knocked down three three-pointers in the first frame. At halftime, the Badgers were ahead 41-17, with the Chanticleers committing 13 first-half turnovers and attempting no free throws over the first 20 minutes of play.
The Badgers continued their domination in the second half, going on a 29-4 run to start the second half. UW dominated the paint scoring 34 points inside, while beating Coastal Carolina on the glass by a margin of 20-12.
Sophomore guard Michael Flowers dominated on the defensive end with a career-high five steals and nine points.
Chanticleer junior forward Moses Sonko led the way for Coastal Carolina with 19 points and a team-high five boards.
