A 62-year-old taxi driver for Badger Cab was allegedly robbed at gunpoint Thursday on the 2400 block of Allied Drive.
According to police statements, the driver, whose name has not been released, had just dropped off a passenger when the suspect hailed his taxi.
After entering the backseat of the taxi, the suspect held a handgun to the driver's head and demanded money.
The driver handed over his wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect then fled on foot. Police continue to search for the suspect and MPD public information officer Mike Hanson called the case 'an ongoing investigation.'
Though the alleged robbery occurred on Allied Drive, a street known for its high crime, Hanson stressed that such an incident could occur anywhere.
'It could happen in Maple Bluff,' Hanson said.
The suspect is thought to be a black male approximately 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
