Four Star Video Heaven, 315 N. Henry St., celebrated its 20th anniversary last night at the High Noon Saloon, 701 E. Washington St., with a costume party. Joining in the festivities were the likes of Austin Powers and Zorro as well as many other partiers in disguise, all celebrating one of Madison's favorite video stores.
Four Star boasts a video library of over 20,000 titles, and party attendee Christine Borth said she particularly loves the international film selection at Four Star. 'They probably have the most foreign films in Madison,' she said.
New owner Lisa Brennan enjoys running the business, but also stressed the responsibility involved.
'To be able to work with a business that has been so strong in the community is a rare opportunity,' Brennan said. 'It's a lot of work, but its also very rewarding.'
Four Star Video Heaven also works to play a part in community programs such as sexual health initiatives and political debate. As a result, Brennan said, Four Star has a leg up on its Madison competition.
'We feel like we offer something much more than other video stores,' she said. 'All of the staff have a stake in the community.'
