UW-Madison junior Lisa Trafton died Sunday after a long illness. She was a member of The Daily Cardinal staff and the UW-Madison co-ed service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. She served as Fellowship vice president. Lisa was majoring in English and psychology, and had hoped to study abroad in India within a Buddhist temple next year.
She was a previous resident of the Highlander Residence Hall.
Lisa was a 2003 graduate of Sun Prairie High School, where she was actively involved in many school clubs and organizations, including its drama club. Her efforts and leadership brought the induction of an annual club award in her name for a drama member who exudes outstanding work ethic and great leadership ability.
Lisa loved tea, yoga and was a literature buff. She worked at the East Towne Waldenbooks and was an employee of Pipefitter on State Street. Lisa found peace in her photography and was an avid poet and writer. She had a knack for vintage fashion that gorgeously displayed her unique personality.
A creative soul, Lisa was a beautiful person who was a caring and wonderful friend to many. She will be loved and missed.
Services will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Church, 6400 Spring St., in Racine, Wis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to her service organization, APO. Students who want to attend can sign up at 75 Bascom Hall.
