New Beer Thursdays

New Glarus' new brew is barley wine. A unique style of beer, it is \malt accented."" According to the label the hops from Germany and the U.S. were not good enough, so they used only the ""East Kent Golding"" strain of hops available in Scotland.

New Glarus Beer is a Wisconsin institution and the word of their brewmasters is generally regarded as gospel. We applaud the fearless risk-taking involved in creating this new barley wine, but this is one endeavor that has failed miserably. A thin consistency, pungent flavor and extremely high alcohol content make this a perfect beer for a weather-beaten Scottish farmer, but not your average drinker.
