The Badgers so far this season
It's pretty much what I expected. This is a typical Barry Alvarez team. It's kind of fitting that it's his last team, because it symbolizes the teams he's had over the years, where there aren't any superstars coming into the season and yet here he is, undefeated. It's kind of, to me, what he's done over the years. Even though he's had some great teams, a lot of times it's the teams that don't necessarily have a lot of superstars that end up being his best teams.
Brian Calhoun as a Heisman candidate
I think he's a Heisman candidate without a doubt. I think he has pretty much put this offense on his shoulders and carried them. I've just been impressed with his durability and how hard a worker he is and how much he can take. Considering that he's not the biggest back in the world, he sure acts like a 230-pounder the way he plays.
Outlook for the rest of the season
I don't think they're going to run the table. I don't think they're going to go undefeated, but I think this is a team that can win eight or nine games, which would be a great team. That would be remarkable, considering how tough the conference is. If they were able to get to eight or nine wins, that would be a phenomenal year.
The legacy of Barry Alvarez
Legacy is not only going to Rose Bowls, but winning them. He went to three Rose Bowls and won three Rose Bowls. That's always been a hard thing to do for Big Ten coaches. Of course he'll be remembered for building up the Wisconsin program, but I'll remember him for going to Pasadena and winning.
