To meet American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators standards, newly-issued Wisconsin drivers licenses and state ID cards will include new colors, format and features to enhance security. 

 

 

 

Starting Sept. 20, staff at all 103 Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers will issue the cards with three levels of security to reduce the potential of identity theft. 

 

 

 

For under 21 IDs, distinguishing features include text appearing in a vertical format and white on red reverse printing encased by a special ultraviolet security feature.
