Football player charged with credit fraud

Wisconsin Badgers Football linebacker Jammar Crane was charged Monday with a single count of fraudulent credit card use in Dane County Circuit Court. 

 

 

 

Six foot, 195 lb. Crane, 19, faces Level A criminal misdemeanor charges for stealing an amount less than or equal to $2,500. A sophomore from Garland, Texas, Crane redshirted in 2004 and was a scout defense player of the week for Michigan State. 

 

 

 

According to Dane County Circuit Court records, the alleged offense took place on May 9. Crane will have a pre- trial conference on Oct. 20 at 10:30 a.m.

In high school, Crane was first-team all-district outside linebacker as a junior before an injury forced him to miss eight games his senior year. His high school career statistics include 250 tackles, 28 quarterback sacks, 13 forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and an interception.  

 

 

 

Crane was a three-year football letter winner at Garland High.
