Some residents and neighbors of 423 W. Mifflin St. were the victims of vandalism after cars parked behind the structure were the subjects of tire-slashings Saturday morning.
UW-Madison seniors Laura Thompson and Jackie Potter live at 423 W. Mifflin St. and said the act \seems really random"" so they have ""no idea who slashed the tires.""
According to Lt. Carl Strasburg of the Madison Police Department, he knew five separate reports of the incident were filed, but did not have any additional information.
Thomson and Potter said the parking lot behind their house and the two parking lots on the east and west sides of that lot contained a total of approximately 10-15 vandalized cars.
""I went out to go to work Saturday morning and the tires on the driver's side were both slashed,"" Thompson said.
Thompson added she and many other people in the area had their cars towed to Comstock Firestone Tire, 2413 Park St., where many employees stayed past closing time to help those in need of new tires.
""They stayed and were really helpful,"" Thompson said. ""They were really nice about the whole thing.""
The MPD does not have any suspects for the slashings at this time.
