Following his March 7 arrest, UW-Madison freshman quarterback Marcus Randle El appeared in court Monday where he entered a not guilty plea to a criminal charge of disorderly conduct. Randle El was issued a signature bond and ordered to direct no threats or hostile acts toward University of Illinois student Danae Brown, the mother of his two-year-old child.
According to the criminal complaint, the UW-Madison Police Department received a call from an Ogg Hall West resident stating an argument coming from room 610 \was very loud and that there was a lot of profanity being used."" Randle El allegedly refused to allow Brown to leave the room and eventually pushed her by the neck into a bed frame.
In the criminal complaint, Brown stated her phone was registered in a different man's name and the argument broke out because Randle El wanted her to change it.
""Basically it was just an argument and somebody called [the police] on us,"" Randle El told The Daily Cardinal Monday.
