A look back at the Badgers' run to the 2005 NCAA tournament

From game-winning shots to surprising comebacks, memorable moments are everywhere in college basketball. This year, the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team provided its fair share of unforgettable memories. Here's a look back at some of the best.

UW 62 - Indiana 60 (Mar. 1)

It was only the first day of March, but this game definitely had a touch of the Madness in it. With Indiana fighting to get off the bubble and the Badgers seeking another 20-win season, this game had a tournament feel to it.

Led by 28 points from Wilkinson, Wisconsin was in the lead for much of the game, but in the final minutes, the Hoosiers surged and tied the game at 60. With 10 seconds left, Wisconsin had the ball and a chance to win.

Enter sophomore forward Alando Tucker.

Leaving a timeout, launched a three-pointer, only to come up short. Luckily for the Badgers, Wilkinson snagged the rebound and flipped the ball toward the hoop. His shot didn't fall, but Tucker was on hand to collect the miss and tip the ball in as time expired.

To be sure, it was a sensational finish, but it was just the beginning of Tucker's last-second heroics.

UW 60 - Ohio State 49 (Mar. 11)

After scoring just nine total points in Wisconsin's three previous games, senior forward Zach Morley was the unlikely star of the Badgers' quarter-final win at the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago.

Morley shot 8-11 from the field and added six free throws to score a career-high 23 points in the victory over The Ohio State University. The Buckeyes had no answer for the junior college transfer from Indian Hills Community College. Known more for his high energy, shaggy hair and hustle plays than for his offensive output, Morley hit shots from everywhere on the court to lead the Badgers into the semi-finals of the Big Ten Tournament.

UW 59 - Iowa 56 (Mar. 12)

Alando Tucker resumed his role as Wisconsin's gamewinner with a three-pointer at the buzzer to see Iowa off in the semi-finals of the Big Ten Tournament.

The spectacular three capped a 20-point performance for Tucker and pushed the Badgers into the Big Ten Tournament final for the second straight year.

The Hawkeyes, playing their best basketball since head coach Steve Alford dismissed starting junior guard Pierre Pierce, had an answer for everything the Badgers threw at them. Junior forward Greg Brunner scored 18 points to lead Iowa. His tip-in with less than four seconds left tied the game at 56 and set the stage for Tucker's big three.

With 3.7 seconds left, Tucker took the ball the length of the court and lofted a 25-footer toward the hoop. As the buzzer sounded, Tucker's shot banked off the backboard and splashed through the hoop, clinching the Badgers' spot in Sunday's final against Illinois.

Though the Badgers fell to Illinois in the next game, they will look to create more memorable moments this weekend as they start their run in the NCAA Tournament against Nothern Iowa.

Last year the Badgers made it as far as the second round where they fell to a dangerous Pittsburgh team. This year, if all goes well the Badgers will match up against Kansass or Bucknell.
