It was a game where one team's streak was going to have to end. The No. 19 Wisconsin Badgers had won 38 straight games at home, while No. 1 Illinois was a perfect 19-0 this season. With a 75-65 victory at the Kohl Center Tuesday night, Illinois improved to 20-0 and ended the Badgers' streak which dated back to Dec. 7, 2002.
The Badgers kept it close throughout the first half, thanks to success from three-point range, but trailed 35-33 at halftime.
Sophomore forward Alando Tucker sparked the Badgers in the second half, during which he scored all 16 of his total points and the Badgers led by five points with 10 minutes to play.
But a cold shooting spell for Wisconsin and good passing and free throw shooting by the nation's top team secured the 10-point win for the Illini.
