Watching UW football go 1-0 next fall may cost students a few more dollars.
Deputy Athletic Director Jamie Pollard told the Wisconsin State Journal preliminary budget estimates for 2005-'06 show ticket prices for the general public may bump up $2 to $4 per game. Ticket revenue supplies much of the Athletic Department's budget.
However, Assistant Athletic Director of Communications Steve Malchow told The Daily Cardinal Thursday if the price of student tickets increases, it will not be as much as the general tickets.
\Historically the student ticket prices have been about 50 percent of the [public's] increase,"" Malchow said. ""It's never been the same amount.""
Malchow emphasized the Athletic Department is still in the early stages of budget planning, and student ticket prices have not been seriously discussed.
Last season, student tickets cost $16 for non-conference games ($20 Big Ten), while general tickets were $33 for non-conference games and $40 for the Big Ten season.
