Letter to the editor

As every other student in the last couple weeks of the spring semester, I have been extremely busy trying to balance various commitments to school, work and having fun. I went in to the education department today to schedule my routine appointment with my academic advisor. When I told the secretary that I wanted to meet with my advisor, she told me I would have to choose a new one. I kind of stood there puzzled, until she said that my advisor had passed away recently.

It had only been a month since I had last seen her. This was a person who had greatly influenced my life, helping me decide what career path to follow. I never had the chance to tell her how helpful our half hour meetings were.

My point in writing this letter is to make sure you tell the people in your life what they mean to you before it is too late. Especially since the summer break is coming up. You never know if you will ever see some of those people again, because anything can happen.
