Madison Municipal Judge Shelley Gaylord emerged victorious as Dane County Circuit Court Judge in Tuesday's primary, with close to 48 percent of the vote. Michael Anderson came in second with 26 percent and John Schuster received 23 percent.
This is the first time in a decade that the judge has been elected rather than appointed by the governor.
Gaylord will square off against Anderson in the April 1 general election.
