The women's hockey team moved to third place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association after tying Bemidji State 2-2 (3-4-2 WCHA, 5-6-2 overall) Friday and defeating them Saturday, 4-0.
Friday, UW (4-4-4, 10-4-4) and Bemidji State fought an evenly matched game. Beaver senior center Alicia Kinsman and sophomore forward Nicky Kluck put the first points on the board for Bemidji while UW responded with goals from sophomore forward Amy Vermeulen and senior defender Sis Paulsen.
Saturday, the Badgers easily defeated Bemidji, 4-0. Sophomore forward Jackie Friesen, senior forward Kendra Antony and junior forward Meghan Hunter, who had two goals, all scored for UW.
