Badgerball falls to Waves

The women's basketball team earned its first win Friday night in the Thanksgiving Classic against University of Texas-Arlington, advancing to the final round Saturday. However, the Badgers fell to Pepperdine in overtime and took second place in the tournament. 

 

 

 

Friday, junior center Emily Ashbaugh and senior forward Kristi Seeger led the way for the Badgers, scoring 13 points apiece. Sophomore guard Stephanie Rich had a career-high nine points and freshman guard Ashley Josephson registered eight.  

 

 

 

Against Pepperdine, the Badgers fought hard but couldn't get past the Waves for the Thanksgiving Classic title, and they fell 76-67 in overtime. Ashbaugh and Seeger each posted double-doubles as Ashbaugh had 13 points and 12 boards and Seeger recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore forward Ebba Gebisa led the team with 14 points.
